What is Integrative Care?
Integrative care is an approach to care that seeks to integrate the best of Western scientific medicine with a broader understanding of the nature of illness, healing and wellness.
Integrative care is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative. – Dr. Andrew Weil
The defining principles of integrative care are:
· The patient-client and practitioner are partners in the healing process.
· The care addresses the whole person, including body, mind, and spirit in the context of relationships.
· Providers use all appropriate healing sciences to facilitate the body's innate healing response (often by referral and coordination of care).
· Practitioners of integrative care exemplify its principles and commit themselves to self-exploration and self-development through receiving therapeutic treatment in their own modality.

Emilio Anguiano, LCDC, IRT
Esther Perel says, 'what defines the quality of our lives is the quality of our relationships.' When I graduated from Medical School in Mexico and started my private practice as a physician, I quickly realized that my patients were looking for more than my services regarding their physical symptoms. On their quest of healing and well-being they also needed to be listened to and understood about the emotional needs beyond their organic illnesses. I enjoy working with substance abuse problems (including legal problems), domestic/family violence and anger management education, and aid to friends or relatives of persons suffering from addiction (codependency).

Jen Masterson, LCSW, IRT
I am an individual and couples counselor based in Austin, TX. My practice (and true labor of love), Masterson Imago, was created to provide clients a safe and fruitful space to get wildly inquisitive about themselves. I specialize in Imago Relationship Therapy, developed by Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt in 1980, which is built on the idea that conflict is a natural occurrence in human interaction and moving through it with openness and curiosity allows for our relationships to deepen and expand. Often when we are stuck, we numb out. Often when we are afraid, we get defensive. Thankfully couples therapy isn’t the only place to learn relationship skills; individuals and families also benefit from Imago tools, like the dialogue, which assists in fostering a more loving and conscious presence with ourselves, our families, and our wider community.
I believe that people are inherently creative, resourceful, and whole, and I am driven to facilitate powerful conversations in order to enrich the lives of my clients. I value vulnerability, play, humor, inquiry, engagement, and authenticity and am interested in the stories we tell that invariably shape and define our lives. I derive joy from working with people from all walks of life, especially families, couples, and adolescents, and have a special affinity for those experiencing the effects of various life transitions.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Co-Active coach, and certified Imago Relationship Therapist with advanced degrees in poetry and social work, I enjoy connecting with clients who are interested in healing, re-connection, growth, and a greater sense of well-being. My clinical experience as an advocate, therapist, and clinical manager at an outpatient clinic was in trauma, grief, shame, loss, anxiety, relational issues, addiction, emerging adulthood, and personality disorders. I look forward to collaborating with you in individual or couples therapy.
