Imago Couples Workshop
The Getting The Love You Want Couples’ Weekend Workshop invites you to consider a new perspective for your relationship. The Imago set of simple and practical communication tools will enhance and deepen any committed relationship.
Improving communication in a long term committed relationship is one of the more challenging aspects of relationships. Nearly all couples struggle at times, or struggle with specific topics. What starts out as a simple difference can escalate into conflict before we know what happened. It may be hopeful for you to learn that just a few basic skills are all that is needed to profoundly change your communication.
You will come to understand why you chose each other as partners in a long-term committed relationship; why it is that you will inevitably trigger each other’s best and worst selves; and, find out what you can do, in fact need to do, in order to deepen your relationship!
The structure of this relationship workshop often helps couples break down the impasses they’ve hit when communicating on their own. By immersing yourself in relationship education and practicing what you learn, you will leave better able to utilize any couple’s therapy you are currently getting or may get in the future. This workshop gives you a map of what needs to be done or done differently in order to make your relationship truly rewarding.

What Can We Expect?
A Couple’s Retreat for Every Couple…
The workshop is a journey, and at the end you will leave with some insights into how you can create a deeply satisfying and long-lasting relationship with your partner, as well as having learned some skills that can help you to achieve that. Through exercises that you share with partner, you would explore some of your emotional history, and learn how that influences both the reason you chose your partner, and also the reason that you may both be drawn either now or later into a power-struggle.
This weekend creates real hope for the future.Randy, Texas
This couples retreat is a valuable experience for every couple. All couples are welcome regardless of religious beliefs, marital status, and sexual orientation. If you have just met your partner, the workshop will help you make the most out of your life together. If you are struggling with relationship problems, the workshop can provide a quick way to reduce the pain and understand how to restore connection and love.
Tens of thousands of couples worldwide have attended the Imago Weekend Workshop for couples. Its called Getting The Love You Want because it is closely based on the best seller of that name by Harville Hendrix, Phd, who personally developed this workshop over a 16 year period, and has trained hundreds of Certified Workshop Presenters. And you can attend this workshop in Austin, Texas!
Take your relationship to a place you have only dreamed of.Jennifer, Texas
During the workshop we teach you how to use the Imago Dialogue. This is a powerful approach to exploring deep emotional issues and restoring lost connection. We will ask for volunteer couples that can be coached in front of the class through demonstrations, and then give you plenty of time to practice and apply the dialogue to the insights you develop throughout the workshop. There’s always help close by if you get stuck!
Sometimes we hear from couples who are concerned about revealing personal information to others. That’s why we set the workshop up so that if you wish you can do all your personal work privately with your partner, and just share with the group if you wish. We’ve also learned over the years that one of the most inspiring elements of the workshop is to see other couples going through the Imago processes during the demonstration and to hear their stories.
Michelle is an excellent facilitator and works wonders with couples.K., Houston, TX
A Couple’s Retreat Where Renewal is Possible…
By the end of the workshop, most couples leave feeling far more positive about their relationship, and the workshop closes with finding ways to make sure your life is full of caring and romance.
The workshop includes a manual which you will be using throughout the weekend to write down effective ways to personally communicate with your partner. You will take the manuals with you following the workshop to continue doing the work you did all weekend.
Michelle is warm and positive. Her personal attention and innate knowledge of this material may have saved our marriage before it even started."A., Dallas, TX

Why is the workshop $900?
For a half dozen of private Imago couple’s therapy sessions you will likely pay between $900 – $1,800 This workshop offers you more information than can be given in those same six sessions. And you receive the kind of information, training, and practice that will help you to be able to use the communication tools on your own.
If you are trying to avoid divorce, then $900 is a drop in the bucket compared to attorney’s fees. And it may just be what helps you avoid a high conflict divorce so that you can end the relationship with grace and dignity. Hopefully you will not have to go down that road altogether and this workshop will be a turning point to revitalize your relationship and renew your commitment. Finding hope is a powerful thing that can sustain us through the learning process.
Pay in full 14 days in advance and pay $400 a person or $800.00 per couple, or pay in full online and pay $850.00 per couple. The regular fee for this workshop is $900.00 per couple which includes two manuals. A deposit of $450 holds your place.
Why do you meet on Friday night?
This workshop is intensive without a framework. I have done many of these with my partner and we found that it was just too much information to digest over two days. We left exhausted and overwhelmed no matter who was leading it. The person who trained me has always done a Friday evening portion and suggested I do the same. The time on Friday night gives you a chance to get comfortable with me and the space, look through the workbook, and begin to frame the Imago theory so you can get the most out of Saturday and Sunday.
LGBTQ Relationship Workshops
Learn about yourself and your partner in an emotionally safe environment. All are welcome regardless of how you identify yourself, your relationship, or the status of your relationship. This weekend is exclusively for those in a relationship where one or more of you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and those in a poly relationship are also welcome. This workshop helps you identify and understand the larger patterns in your relationship.
Learn the Imago Dialogue, a basic communication system that is easy to learn and understand, and then build on that system to go further into a deeper understanding of your self and your relationship to bypass longstanding conflicts and stuck places.
You will have an opportunity to explore your personal history via the Imago workbook exercises in order to understand how this history, along with your brain/mind, body, and spirit can play into current communication patterns and other relationship dynamics.
